New Equipment for 2002!

TTI’s Aboveground Storage Tank Inspection group has acquired an NDT Mark I Crawler.  The unit is a remote ultrasonic crawler designed to allow thickness measurements on carbon steel aboveground storage tanks, reactors and vessels without the need for costly scaffolding or unsafe ladders.  Used in conjunction with TTI’s Krautkramer DMS 2 Thickness Gauge, measurements are captured directly to a data recorder.  In addition, surface paint and epoxy coatings can accurately be eliminated from the steel thickness by measuring between successive backwall reflections of the metal.  The NDT Mark I Crawler used with the DMS-2 B-Scan provides a graphical thickness cross-sectional view of areas scanned.

TTI's Aboveground Storage Tank inspection group just acquired the latest in Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement.  The Krautkramer DMS 2The DMS 2 is a revolutionary A-Scan Digital Thickness Gauge/Data Recorder incorporating beneficial performance features, ease of use, and Krautkramer's patented TopCOAT Technology, which allows the probe to not only accurately measure through a top coating such as paint or epoxy, but also is able to report the thickness of this coating.  The DMS 2 also incorporates the latest in B-Scan reporting.  The DMS 2 B-Scan provides a graphical thickness cross-sectional view of the equipment being tested.  B-Scans are very helpful in quickly identifying laminated or heavily thinned areas. Pit size and contour can be easily mapped giving a representative view of the extent of corrosion pit damage.

TTI recently acquired a new John Deere Skid Steer 250 with hydraulic breaker attachment.  This small loader, along with the added hydraulic breaker hammer attachment will find many uses in TTI's various construction and demolition projects.

An 18 inch rigid wand allows the inspector to vertically articulate the camera up to 90 degrees.
